Stephanie Pratt celebrated her 22nd birthday on The Hills last night. Gotta say we'd much rather have been at last week's B-day party for Audrina, with all her punk friends making Lo skittish.

Last night's attempts at drama all centered on whether or not Spencer and Heidi were going to come to Steph's party. They did their plotting in their secret lair—a dark booth at their Mexican restaurant—and were ready to go.

What's really weird is that Lauren and Lo somehow managed to convince themselves that Speidi would not be present for Spence's sister's soiree. But alas, there was no actual confrontation at the party—everyone just bolted when Spencer did his douche stroll into the club. Such a wasted opportunity.

But how 'bout that Israel-Iran conflict? Yeah, we didn't forget about that—more after the jump...

The Hills girls, their unimpressive guys and Speidi fights are all back in our lives—let us rejoice! This season promised some serious drama with that mascara-stained trailer, and we certainly got our hopes up.

But like so many times before, after a holiday spent in front of MTV and the sorta boring episode, we were filled with both disappointment and the desire for more Hills. Ah, the show’s maddening secret to success!

The L.C. tearfest wasn't in this episode, but “on this season of The Hills” promises it's still coming, along with Audrina taking off her top (she wouldn't!), more Heidi and Flesh Beard battles (really, guys?) and a possible peace treaty between Lauren and Heids (aw, they miss each other). So maybe something interesting will happen?

Lauren Conrad's not the only one making the jump to scripted TV. Well, slightly more scripted than usual TV, that is.

But while the erstwhile L.C. is set to appear as herself in an upcoming episode of Greek, fellow Hills gal-pal Audrina Patridge will be flexing a little more thespian muscle, revealing in a posting to her official website that she'll be appearing in the new fall sitcom Do Not Disturb.

And not, surprisingly, as her reality-star self.

"I'm having a great day!" she wrote in a posting Wednesday. "My manager and agent just called to tell me that I've been offered a guest appearance on a new comedy series airing on Fox this fall!"

With all this media coverage of the noisy dent Lauren Conrad and her roomies are making in their cozy Hollywood Hills enclave, a number of neighbors have also been getting more time in the spotlight than usual.

But E! News has exclusively confirmed that Hills-side neighbor and The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll producer Steven Antin is not shopping a reality show about what it's like to bed down a few houses away from L.C., Lauren "Lo" Bosworth and Audrina Patridge.

Thank goodness.

Just one year ago, Hills superstar Lauren Conrad was launching the Lauren Conrad Collection and wearing a design of her own to the Teen Choice Awards. A picture even exists of her sitting over a corkboard kinda designing it.

Fast-forward to this year—everyone's going crazy over her line getting kicked out of Kitson and reports that Lauren had nothing to do with its design. But she showed up at this year's Teen Choice Awards smiling through the pain and claiming yet again to be wearing a dress she designed.

We want to know which L.C. design you prefer—the belted maxi with the crazy print and sweetheart top of '08, or the belted teal cocktail dress with the bubble hem and sweetheart top of '07?

Entertainment Weekly tries to add some sort of depth to the show in this week’s cover story about the peachy life of millionaire/earthquake survivor Lauren Conrad now that we're all addicted to her little personal dramas.

Of course there is the obvious comparison of L.C. being “a West Coast reincarnation of Carrie Bradshaw (if Carrie were a millionaire).” Fair enough—the show does feature four girls with no real jobs who lunch, go out for drinks and talk about boys.

It’s the comparison of the show to the novels of Charles Dickens that seems a bit off...

Paris Hilton and Fergie both hit up Vegas this week to pose with their shoe lines to convince us we absolutely must buy a pair or otherwise we'll just die.

This is the most important (and, sometimes, only) role of the celebrity behind these types of collections. In fact, lack of promotional appearances could be one of the reasons Lauren Conrad's line is flopping. So we want to know which talented singer/actress you think sells her fashion goods the best.

While it's a tough call between Paris’ “Is this over yet? I wanna cuddle with Benji” pout and Fergie’s “So check out this shoe, it's like, nice, right?” pose, we're sure you can manage.

As for us, we think they could use some Katie Price pizzazz in their saleswomanship.
