Sad, Wacky Winehouse an Agent of Destruction?
Retro-pop trainwreck Amy Winehouse may not seem like much of a career counselor,
but apparently she's taken on that role for her 12-year old goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield.
This week, she had Dionne sing in her place at a gig in London, according to U.K. tab the
Mirror, and the experience proved to be less stressful for Dionne than Winehouse, who
sobbed to reporters backstage:
Move Over, Amy Winehouse!
Do you think you've got what it takes to be the next Amy Winehouse?
We're talkin' about the voice, not the trainwreck personal life.
If so, who better to know than the "Rehab" hitmaker's Grammy-winning producer, Mark Ronson?
Winehouse Faces Legal Action Over Paris No-Show
If Amy Winehouse thinks she can take an unlimited number of sick days without consequence, some French officials have a message for her: au contraire.
The ever-troubled British songbird is facing possible legal action from the organizers of Paris' Rock En Seine musicfest after she pulled out of a Friday headlining gig just hours before she was expected to hit the stage, citing, per usual, an unspecified illness.
Organizers of the three-day music festival said they were given just two hours' notice that Winehouse would not be appearing, and they weren't satisfied with her justification for the no-show.
"Because of the conditions of this cancellation, the festival has taken the decision to start legal proceedings," reads a message on the festival's website.
Amy Winehouse Too Sick for Paris Gig
Here's a shocker: At the last minute, Amy Winehouse pulled out of a concert in Paris on Friday night because she was too sick to perform.
The trouble-stricken Brit, who's been hospitalized twice since June, was too ill to make the trip from her home in London to the City of Lights for the Rock En Seine festival.
Her spokesman Chris Goodman told People, "It's nothing serious. It's just a normal illness—she hasn't visited a hospital or anything like that. She's at home in bed, just unable to sing."
On the festival's official blog (in French), organizers say they weren't given an exact reason for her absence and that they may seek legal action.
The 24-year-old chanteuse is due to perform at next weekend's Bestival festival on England's Isle of Wight.
Ticket holders, don't hold your breath...
Amy Winehouse Dad to Host Radio Show
Mitch Winehouse's name is in the paper almost as much as his daughter's these days. Looks like he wants to give her a run for her money on the airwaves, as well.
Amy Winehouse's cab-driving, media-friendly father is set to guest host a one-off afternoon call-in radio show on BBC's Radio London Sept. 1, filling in for the regular DJ who will be on vacation.
"Mitch has been a regular contributor to BBC London, calling into our phone-in shows," the station's assistant editor, Justin Kings, told the mothership.
"He always has something worthwhile to say and a good sense of humor. Although Mitch's life is extraordinary because of Amy, he's still a London dad, and I think our listeners can relate to him in that way."
Winehouse OK; Leaves Sick Bay
The "Rehab" songbird is on the rebound.
Amy Winehouse was released from a London hospital early this morning, a day after being admitted for an adverse reaction to medication.
Her rep, Chris Goodman, said the Grammy winner was in good spirits after having what appeared to be a seizure yesterday at her north London residence.
Amy Winehouse Taken to E.R. After Rx Reaction
Amy Winehouse's health is, once again, in doctors' hands.
The troubled chanteuse was rushed to a London hospital Monday night after suffering an adverse reaction to medication, E! News has confirmed.
"Please be advised that Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to the hospital," the singer's rep, Tracey Miller, said. "Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow."
Winehouse was reportedly admitted to University College Hospital in Bloomsbury.
Eyewitnesses outside the 24-year-old songbird's townhouse saw her being escorted from the premises in a wheelchair, according to SplashNewsOnline, which first reported the latest twist in Winehouse's physical-stature saga.
New and Improved Amy Winehouse Available in Wax
Madame Tussauds gave us a rare glimpse at what Amy Winehouse might look like if she were to stop using and abusing.
The famed wax museum unveiled this model of the punch happy singer today. Amy couldn't be present for this prestigious honor, because she's most likely too busy mourning the sentencing of her one true love for all eternity, Blake Fielder-Civil.
But that didn't stop her parents from showing up. After all, what's a Winehouse story without a quote from her good ol' pop, Mitch? And the word from Mitch: "Yeah, it’s great. We just said we’re going to take this one home with us and send the real one back."
Well, we can't really blame him.
Winehouse Hubby Sentenced to More Jail Time
Amy Winehouse's beloved Blake Incarcerated has only just begun to earn his nickname.
A London judge today sentenced the Grammy winner's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, to 27 months behind bars as punishment for his guilty plea for assaulting a pub owner and then attempting to cover it up.
Winehouse was not present in Snaresbrook Crown Court to hear her other half's fate.
Winehouse Out of the Sick House
Amy Winehouse is out. Time will tell if behavioral changes are in.
A rep for the "Rehab" singer confirms to E! News that the 24-year-old was officially discharged as a patient from the London Clinic yesterday after a whirlwind stay, which included a diagnosis of early stages of emphysema and two days out to perform at various gigs around England.
"I can confirm that Amy has left the London Clinic and will be treated as an outpatient," Tracey Miller said.
Don't Mess With the Winehouse?
Fans, beware. Here comes Amy Winehouse's latest hit.
Video has surfaced showing the 24-year-old soul diva getting into a scuffle with a concertgoer during her performance at Britain's Glastonbury music festival on Saturday.
The Grammy-winning singer appears to jab her elbow at the crowd while singing "Rehab" in the mosh pit. Seconds later, Winehouse angrily throws a couple punches.
Asked about the incident, Winehouse's rep said, "The 'lashing out' was when someone tried to grab her hair and she reacted."
What do you think? Did a fan get too close or did Amy make the first move?
Winehouse Plays for Full House at Mandela Gig
Nelson Mandela's not just a moral authority, he's a miracle worker.
Tens of thousands of punters and a slew of A-list stars and musical acts gathered in London's Hyde Park Friday for a special concert honoring the South African leader's 90th birthday party. The biggest surprise of the evening came courtesy of a healthy-looking Amy Winehouse, who, despite speculation and a track record to the contrary, actually turned up as planned and delivered a hitch-free performance during the four-hour event.
Will Smith hosted the megaconcert (with ample help from wife Jada Pinkett Smith), which also counted Josh Groban, Leona Lewis, Queen, Annie Lennox, Stephen Fry, Quincy Jones, Lewis Hamilton, Simple Minds, Geri Halliwell, Razorlight and U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown among its stage-gracing guests.
